A sincere thank you to everyone who was cheering us on during yesterday’s 2018 Autobacs Super GT Round 8 Motegi GT 250km Race.

We here at Goodsmile Racing & TeamUKYO finished the race in 3rd place, and 4th in overall driver ranking – meaning we were unfortunately unable to attain the status of successive champions.

2018 Driver Ranking

We finished qualifying in 3rd as well, giving us the advantage of an incredibly good starting position going into the race.  We passed the #65 Leon AMG in lap one, as described in our strategy by Team Owner Takanori Aki during the post-qualifying live webcast, but both the #65 Leon AMG and #31 Toyota Prius opted to forego changing their tires, we were unable to pass them in the end no matter how hard we tried and finished the race in 3rd place.

As the past year’s season champion was a hot contender right until the end of the race, the race itself was incredibly exciting, with many twists and turns that elicited a reaction from the crowd, but in the end our finish was an incredible disappointment.

If you were to see any of the sports papers in the convenience store today, you’d see articles about Driver Batton and excitement about the Super GT, which still makes us happy.  Here are a selection below (in Japanese).

Well, the races for this season may be over, but there are still some events left!  Right now there’s the Racing Miku 2018 Pop-Up Shop in Akihabara, the Racing Miku Supporter Photo Shoot, a live webcast next week on Nov. 20, as well as the Year-End Party on Dec. 22.

The Racing Miku Pop-Up Shop is inside the Volks Akihabara Hobby Tengoku, which you can access by exiting “Electric Town Exit” from JR Akihabara Station and turning left.  It will be open until Nov. 25.

The Racing Miku Supporter Photo Shoot will be held in Tokyo on Dec. 2.  We’re working out the details with Emotion right now, but will make an announcement once everything has been confirmed so please stand by.

We plan to have a live webcast of our Goodsmile Meeting on Nov. 20 at 8pm JST.  You’ll probably hear the word disappointing a lot…  After the program has been put together I’ll share the URL.

And last but not least, the Year-End Party on (Sat) Dec. 22.  Tickets go on sale tonight at 8pm JST.
You can make your purchase via this site.  We look forward to seeing you all there.

That does it for all of our race and other related announcements.

We hope you’ll continue your support via a Personal Sponsorship and follow us on Instagram and Twitter!
