Thank you everyone for all of your support!
Qualifying at Fuji Speedway has just ended, so let me give you a full report.
The temperatures were cool and the skies were cloudy with no precipitation at the track.
Driving for Q1 was Nobuteru Taniguchi. After completing several laps in formation, his attack began. After clocking in at 1’39.861 he immediately headed for the pit. Q1 was cleared with amazing ease.
After waiting what seemed like ages, Tatsuya Kataoka took the wheel for Q2. “I got a much better time than I imagined,” he said, with a lap time of 1’39.598 – which momentarily put him on top. But even after the JAF regulatory adjustments, we finished in 5th, making it our best qualifying finish for the season.
In other words, for tomorrow’s finals, we’ll be starting in
on the starting grid. There may be rain in the forecast, but we hope you’ll all be cheering us on!
