Success Ballasts for the Sugo Race

Hey, everyone!  Ever since the rainy season ended in Japan, the heat’s really gone up a notch.  We’re all fighting off heat stroke here, but hope all our fans in the northern hemisphere are taking extra precautions!

Moving on!  Based on the results of Race 3 at Sepang, the success ballasts (weight handicaps) have been announced for Sugo.  Though the Z4 is more or less unaffected, high performing hybrids have been seriously restricted.

Prius:
1100kg=29.1/1150kg=29.7/1200kg=30.3

1100kg=28.3/1150kg=28.9/1200kg=29.4

CR-Z:
1100kg=29.4/1150kg=30.0/1200kg=30.6

1100kg=28.5/1150kg=29.1/1200kg=29.6

BRZ:
1100kg=42.3/1150kg=43.1/1200kg=44.0

1100kg=41.4/1150kg=42.3/1200kg=43

*Based on data from the Auto Sport site.

The CR-Z was top in terms of point ranking at Sugo, and it looks like it’s going to keep placing high for the time being.  But for the Prius that retired at Sepang, and the BRZ that’s experienced trouble at every race so far, it’s going to be a tough road ahead.

So there you have it –looks like the power balance may have been shaken up.  Though the Autopolis circuit isn’t particularly suited to the Z4, you never know when we might just be in for a surprise!

We hope you’ll be cheering us on!
