Today I’d like to share everyone’s comments regarding the Day 2 of the Test Run at Fuji International Speedway.
As driver Jörg Müller will be participating in the Suzaku round, we’re expecting things to get crazy!
■ Director Istuo Ohashi
Sure, the tires are important, but more importantly, with those two drivers (Taniguchi and Kataoka) our lap time is a sure thing. Of course I wish we could get our car to go even faster, but on the other hand I have a good feeling about the way things are going to go at Suzaku, and think we have what it takes to expect good things at the next race.
■ Driver Nobuteru Taniguchi
Today we were able to get the max speed up to 263 km/h, but as we were probably getting a boost from the GT500 cars, I don’t think it was the car itself that got faster. Our times were the same as yesterday, and we didn’t really place any better, but we didn’t have any troubles and the tire test went well.
■ Driver Tatsuya Kataoka
I spent a lot of time driving in the morning, and tried out various kinds of tires. The test schedule went according to plan and I think we were able to tell which tires would and wouldn’t do the job. The car still does pretty good in corners, but in terms of overall placement, straightaways are going to be the most difficult part to be honest.
