Thank you everyone who came out to Wonder Festival, as well as everyone who tuned in to see the live broadcast!
Wow – What an exciting presentation! Here’s a recap.
Though it was announced at the end of the 2013 season, the 2014 Hatsune Miku GT Project will separating from long time collaborator Studie and entering under the name “GOODSMILE RACING & TeamUKYO.” We’ll be participating in the Super GT 300 Class, and our slogan for this year will be
7th Year’s a Charm
We have a new team logo, too! Ta-da!
The team line up for this year! The team that will be taking back the throne are as follows!
- Team Owner: Takanori Aki
- Team Manager: Ukyo Katayama
- Crew Chief: Itsuo Ohashi
- Team Drivers: Nobuteru Taniguchi, Katsuya Kataoka
- Chief Mechanic: Takao Kawano (RS Fine)
- General Manager: Tomomi Takezawa
Aside from parting ways with Studie and Bob Suzuki, the line-up is more or less the same. As Good Smile Racing became the entrant in and of itself, Good Smile Company CEO Aki has risen from supervisor to Team Owner. And this year, former F1 driver Ukyo Katayama will be in command as Team Manager, giving the orders. Ohashi will be the Crew Chief, making sure that all team communication goes smoothly.
Now on to this year’s machine.
Make/Model: BMW Motorsport Z4 GT3 MY14
Car Name: GSR Hatsune Miku BMW
We’ll be racing in a BMW Z4 again this year! And though we were worried about keeping our number, in the end we were able to hold on to #4! And as we don’t plan on participating in many of the test runs this year, you may have some opportunities to see the Z4 even if you’re unable to make it to any of the races.
Alright, now it’s time to show you all the all-new Racing Miku! The illustration is by Oguchi and the costume was designed by Koyama Shigeto!
And now that you’ve seen Racing Miku, lay your eyes on this amazing transforming Z4 designed by Shoji Kawamori!
Here’s what it looks like when Racing Miku takes the seat!
And now for the news you’ve all been waiting for – this year’s Racing Miku Supporters!
Riding into her 2nd year – Tsukasa Arai!
Her 3rd year with the team – Senna Kokami!
Former Mach-5 team queen and part Spanish – Kelal Yamamura!
Famously popular former Evangelion team queen – Noa Mizutani!
Though we’ll only be racing with one car this year, we’ll have 4 Racing Miku Supporters! If you’ve been putting off buying that fancy camera, I’d say now’s the time! lol With Tsuttsu and Senya staying on, as well as super-otaku Claire, and Noa, making the elegant transition from Eva to Miku (though last year she was actually part of the ZENT team – lol)!
And so, with this incredibly extravagent line-up, we’ll be taking on 2014 full force.
*Don’t forget us, either! Swemy and his humble translator are still here!
We hope you’ll all be cheering us on!
